Transportation, what a Fascination! February 22, 2011

Getting from one place to another was a “blast off” at Tūtū and Me for the month of January. Our focus at Hawai‘i West was to provide different means of transportation in the learning environment; by land, air, and water. To get started staff collected some good ‘ol sturdy big boxes and went to work. Don’t we all love box art! On the ‘to do’ list was a space shuttle, an airplane, a ship, and a tūtū train. Keiki were able to let their imagination “take off” as they had fun learning in the centers.

To end this fascinating theme of transportation, keiki were treated to the Zoo Choo train at site. Conductor Tim set the mood by ringing the bell and announcing “All Aboard!” With 45 keiki in attendance they were able to ride numerous times and there was even a parent/child seat for the little ones. It was an exciting time for “All aboard”. It was a phrase heard for days.
