Talk Story with the Mayor April 7, 2018

Ka Paʻalana Hilo Hope Site recently had “Talk Story with the Mayor” day with special guest, Big Island Mayor Harry Kim on March 7, 2018. The event was filled with laughs, fellowship, and engaging conversations. The day started beautifully with everyone enjoying a delicious hearty breakfast together. Following breakfast and our traditional morning circle, Ka Paʻalana families were able to engage with Mayor Kim in true “Talk Story” fashion. Our Ka Paʻalana keiki we very excited to share the day and their various activities with the Mayor and this was shown through their ear to ear smiles. As excited as the keiki were, it was clear that the Mayor was equally as enthusiastic about his day spent with our Ka Paʻalana ʻohana. The Mayorʻs visit was greatly appreciated as it reinforced the importance of not just our program, but the families we serve.
