Santa spotted handing out slippers to Ka Pa‘alana Preschool families December 22, 2010
The families of Ka Pa‘alana Preschool at Kea‘au Beach had an early Christmas treat on Thursday, December 16, 2010. Santa Claus was spotted at the preschool passing out gifts to the keiki and adults. Along with various gifts, each keiki and caregiver received a new pair of slippers. The slippers were neatly wrapped and tagged by the students of Wai‘anae High School. Huh? Thought it was from Santa.
Although Santa Claus was passing them out, these generous gifts were purchased and donated by the classes of Mr. Bailey at Wai‘anae High School. Mr. Bailey had his 9th grade math classes do a recycling project. The money they received through the recycling project paid for 30 pairs of slippers for our Ka Pa‘alana Preschool ‘ohana. Along with wrapping the slippers, the students of Mr. Bailey’s classes tagged the gifts with their names. The gifts provided foot support and smiles, but more than that, they proved that Santa Claus and elves do exist—in the form of Mr. Bailey and his 9th graders.
