Lisa Anderson

Print Making Mentor- Hāmākua District

Born and raised in Colorado, Lisa has lived and worked in Honoka’a since 2002.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design from Colorado State University.  Since 2009, she has been employed by the Department of Education at Honoka’a High and Intermediate School. Over the past three years, she has served as the fine arts teacher. Her cross-curriculum art lessons combine printmaking, drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture with Hawaiian studies, history, language arts, and science. 

Lisa volunteered with the Honoka’a High School Jazz Band from 2008-2012, helping with their fundraising activities. Since 2003, she has been the recording secretary for Kapulena Orchards Community Association and was also a director and recording secretary for the Hāmākua Farm Bureau between 2004-2009. 

Lisa is the mother of 1 son, Jacy, who graduated from Honoka’a High School in 2012 and Berklee College of Music, Boston, in 2016. She loves spending time with Jacy whenever possible. In her spare time, her favorite things to do are visit art museums and galleries, read, listen to live music, eat Mexican food, go to the beach, and spend time with her cats.
