GIRL SCOUT, HANNAH SWARTZ HAS A HEART FOR FOSTER CARE, May 2011
Hannah Swartz is a special little girl. She is a member of Girl Scout Troop 360 out of Schofield Barracks. She and her Mom, Kara, contacted Hui Hoomalu in May because Hannah wanted to do a service project for children in foster care to honor National Foster Care Month. Kara has worked in child welfare so she knows about foster care and has a heart for children in foster care. Hannah wanted to coordinate a donation drive to put together care packages for children that come into Project First Care. Together with her Mom and her church, Hannah worked to put together care packages for children from infant to teen. The bags included things like toiletries, teddy bears, toys, backpacks, and HOMEMADE blankets! Hannah and her family came to present the packages to the PFC families at the end of May. The families were so appreciative! THANK YOU HANNAH for your service to our community and to children in foster care.
