Preschool parents spread encouragement and positivity April 14, 2015

On April 2, 2015, the community of Wai‘anae received a blast of positive vibes as caregivers from Ka Pa‘alana’s Hale Wai Vista preschool site conducted their inaugural Community Morale Project. In keeping with the preschool theme of the month caregivers decided to initiate a community morale project.

After much deliberation participants decided to conduct a sign waving campaign where they would highlight positive parenting and healthy living by holding signs that summarized their experience while attending parent education classes. “LoveYour Keiki” and “Think Positive” were some visible signs as members of the Wai‘anae community walked or drove along Farrington Highway. The energy amidst caregivers was high as they gestured shakas, waved and smiled.

Paulette Dibibar, a participant of Ka Pa‘alana Hale Wai Vista Parent Education class stated, “The community of Wai‘anae needs more sign waving campaigns to uplift others and encourage positive parenting. We’re lucky to have Ka Pa‘alana in Wai‘anae!” Mahalo to all of our parents and caregivers, who live out the values of aloha and mālama in their daily lives.
