PIDF Employees Take Part in Aloha United Way Kick-Off Event August 30, 2013
Arriving at Bishop Square/Tamarind Park in midtown Honolulu at ‘O-Dark-Thirty in the predawn morning, volunteer employee’s from our Ka Pa’alana program took to the streets with others. This was all to help with the Aloha United Way Kick-Off Event signaling the start of their Annual Fundraising Campaign.
By 7am, incoming traffic along Bishop and S. King Streets were met with the echoing sounds of happy shouts from a multitude of volunteers of different organizations. One and all were encouraging the motorists to support the fundraising effort with donations. And the commuters responded with the honking of horns, adding to the clamor of the early morning rush-hour.
This was a great event , and we are proud to be actively involved in the Aloha United Way fundraising campaign, as they move forward to “mobilize the caring power of our community to make a difference in people’s lives”.
