PIDF employee’s life revolves around service to country and community May 15, 2015
Ka Pa‘alana’s very own Melody Bell, Home Visiting Specialist is recognized for her spirit of service. The following is an excerpt from the Hawaii Army National Guard facebook page:
“Spc. Melody R. Bell, a Hawaii Army National Guard combat medic, is recognized for her community service during Hawaii Military Month ceremonies held at the State Capitol, May 8, 2015. Bell receives a commendation letter from the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Council presented by Brig. Gen. Arthur “Joe” Logan, the adjutant general, representing Gov. David Y. Ige.
Local-born, Bell passionately serves homeless families through her work with the Hawaii Army National Guard and as a volunteer – providing free screenings for homeless families, volunteering with Empty Bowl, Hawaii; Lovefest, ‘Ohana Love Hawaii; Food Bank Hawaii; the School Readiness Project; and Project Vision. Specialist Bell is planning to pursue a graduate degree in Social Work to be certified as a Social Worker in Hawaii.”
