Pai‘olu Kaiāulu Youth Team goes to the Honolulu Zoo June 29, 2012

On June 26, 2012, the youth team from Pai‘olu Kaiāulu Shelter took 13 elementary children and 8 interns on a field trip to the Honolulu Zoo, and for many of the children, this was their first visit to the zoo. Because the theme of the month was animals, the children learned about animals and made animal masks beforehand to prepare for the zoo field trip, where they furthered their knowledge about animals and their habitats. They also were able to visit the Keiki Zoo and pet goats and llamas and get up close to other animals. At the end, each child was given a toy animal to remember their visit to the zoo.
