The Ka Hana No`eau Horsemanship Project held its participant playday for family and friends on July 10, 2017 in Hawi at the Lio Lapa’au arena. Riders secured, groomed, saddled and prepared their mounts with stylish braids. Program participants performed tasks as individuals, in pairs and in tandem. They demonstrated their abilities to communicate with and control their horses. Each of the tasks needed to meet timing and accuracy criteria under the watchful eyes of their mentor, family, and community members.
