Ka Hana No`eau has partnered with the Community Harvest, each month a couple of mentorship programs partners with them. This past week it was the Sustainable Gardening’s and Graphic Arts group. The theme was aquatic resources, Ka Hana No’eau put on a fishing tournament to gather fish to share with the community event. We had enough fish to make poke, spicy tuna, fried aku, and panko crusted fish to serve over 180 community members who attended and we shared what we had left with the community food bank.

We also had Lance Gaspari do crayfish boil, John Kahiapo from DLNR do a session on aquatics, rule, regulations, and methods, and had a small fishing methods display. Next month will be an Okinawan theme.
