Hale Pono Ewa Beach Clubhouse donation helps Ka Pa‘alana families start new school year with backpacks and supplies August 16, 2011

On Thursday, August 11, 2011, staff from Hale Pono Ewa Beach Clubhouse of the Boys and Girls Club of Hawai‘i brought nearly 200 backpacks filled with school supplies for our families and keiki at Hope Shelter.

The Clubhouse had collected these items from donations around the state and offered to share with our families, who will surely use these much needed school supplies as they begin the school year with everything they need.

A huge mahalo goes out to our visitors Andrew “Kona” Purdy, Program Director; Ikona-Zane Keanu, Technical Assistance; and Anthony Barredo, Social Worker; and all the staff at the Boys and Girls Club for their kindness, generosity and aloha for our families on the Leeward Coast.
