#GivingTuesday Highlights Importance of Charity November 27, 2018
Since 2012, Giving Tuesday has been celebrated following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.), Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. The day is meant to kick off the philanthropic season, when many focus their holiday and end-of-year giving.
According to the organization’s website, “#GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities.”
Every day we strive to ensure a bright future for our keiki through comprehensive education, parent and caregiver involvement, and environmental sustainability. We also work to help preserve the Hawaiian language through projects like Baibala Hemolele, which just released the first fully bilingual Hawaiian-English Bible.
This year, we humbly ask that you give back this holiday season by giving to Partners in Development Foundation. Every donation ensures that we can continue serving our constituents across the Hawaiian Islands. Since 1997 we have served over 100,000 individuals in over 75 communities.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 on Giving Tuesday and as of 2:00PM (HST), we have already raised over $1,300. With your help, we can hit our target. Share your giving story of why you donate to PIDF, use the tag #GivingTuesdayHI and be entered to win one of 15 $1,000 grants to the charity of your choice from The Hawaii Community Foundation.
Donate now and be a part of the global giving movement, showing your support for Hawaiʻi’s most at-risk populations today.
