Face Painting In Kaunakakai September 9, 2009
At our Kaunakakai Site and Kualapuu Site, we went hog-wild during last year’s animal theme unit when local artist, Kala’e Ritte-Tangonan, joined us in an animal face painting frenzy. The transformations ranged from gentle giraffes, lazy lions, beautiful butterflies, pleasant puppies, darling ducks and peculiar pigs.
Some of the animals chosen centered on the book, Mrs. Wishy Washy, a story the keiki were familiar with throughout the month. The keiki enjoyed bringing to life their favorite animal by strutting their unique personalities, as we danced to ‘The Animal Boogie’. Join us next time as we “stomp, stomp and boogie woogie, woogie!” at next year’s animal face painting frenzy!
