PID Foundation - (Wed) March 12, 2014

We had a great rally at the capitol on Tuesday March 11, that brought attention to Family Child Interaction Learning (FCIL) programs as practiced by the organizations of the 'Eleu hui.

Governor Neil Abercrombie spoke in support of this initiative, as did Senator Jill Tokuda, Rep. Roy Takumi, Rep. Lauren Kealohilani Matsumoto, DeeJay Mailer, and PIDF President Jan "Hanohano" Dill.

‘Eleu is a collective of six early childhood education agencies: ‘Aha Pūnana Leo, ALU LIKE, Inc.,INPEACE (Institute for Native Pacific Education and Culture), Kamehameha Preschools, Keiki O Ka ‘Aina Family Learning Centers and Partners in Development Foundation.

Founded 10 years ago to support Native Hawaiian early learning and family strengthening agencies by increasing communication, eliminating duplication of services, and creating a sense of shared purpose. A commitment to these goals is exemplified through the more than 25,000 children and families served by the organizations that comprise ‘Eleu since 2003.

‘Eleu believes by advocating together with one voice, we can ensure that our children and our communities continue to flourish.
