A “Sunny” Day at the Zoo June 29, 2012
It may have been gloomy and rainy in Waikiki, but nothing could dampen the spirits of the Ka Pa‘alana families who spent a beautiful day at the Honolulu Zoo. The gibbons greeted us with whoops of excitement, and put on a real swingin’ show! The tortoises also rushed out (the way tortoises do) to see what the commotion was about. The Lemurs must’ve gotten up late because they were still grooming themselves.
The excitement of the children really lit up this grey day. Eyes widened as they spied the different animals in the African Savanna—Lions, giraffes, and baby warthogs! Oh my! Parents and children had fun in the children’s zoo, and were even able to pet some goats and pretend they were fish.
So what if it was raining. These families made their own sunshine and had a grand day.
