10th Annual Waiʻanae Keiki Spring Fest April 11, 2015

For the past 10 years, dozens of Waiʻanae based community organizations have come together to put on the Annual Waiʻanae Keiki Spring Fest. This is a fair that’s put on for families with children living on the West Coast of Oʻahu, and best of all, it’s free! Partners In Development Foundation is very proud to be a part of this wonderful event every year.

This year, we drew in nearly a thousand families from Nanakuli to Makaha. As Children participated in interactive games and educational activities, their parents and guardians were provided with important information about preschool and kindergarten registration. They were also able to learn about the many different services available to them through various community service providers.

Our Ka Paʻalana, Tūtū and Me, and Hui Hoʻomalu programs were among the many other social service providers that had set up information tables and a family interactive activity area. Our presence at the fair was a great way for us to recruit families to join our family education preschool programs or even become a foster parent! We had set up several different sensory learning stations as well as a reading and writing center where children were able to practice writing their name.

Today’s event was a huge success! The weather was beautiful and the turnout was fantastic. We’re thankful to all of our partnering agencies that helped in planning and organizing the fair. And thank you to all of the families who came out to support our educational staff manning the booths and learning stations. We hope you all had as much fun as we did and we look forward to seeing you at site!
