Aaron Mahi Conducts Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra September 18, 2019
Did you catch the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra on September 15th? Hawaiian Cultural Specialist Aaron Mahi of our Hui Nohona culture team was there conducting during the “E Lei Hoʻi Liliʻulani E,” music of Queen Liliʻuokalani.
“Long life to the proud and sweet songs of Queen Liliʻuokalani which she composed,” Uncle Aaron said. “I appreciate greatly her immense love for all the children of Hawaiian descent, their parent guardians, and support staff from the Islands and other far off places in attendance.”
He went on to say ‘with great humility’, “I thank the fellow musicians, and the trustees under the executive director’s leadership of the Queen Liliʻuokalani Trust.”
We are so thankful to have Uncle Aaron put his many talents to good work serving Hawaiian families!
